The stock market tanked another 678 points to close below 8,000 for the first time since 2003. AIG is getting even *more* government money - after 10 top people spent over $400K on a luxury trip. GM stock is below $5/share - the lowest since 1950. It's a scary bear market, but there have only been two others in the past 30 years that compare. The question today was how low can we go before the market turns around?
And, BTW - historically, it bounces up a bit, then down, then starts an upward "bull" climb for a few years, before the cycle begins again.
Until today, my instincts told me to remain calm because there is nothing I can do about my depressed portfolio. However, today, I did feel extremely uncomfortable and concerned about what happened in the market.
How are you feeling about what's going on? Have you discussed our country's financial crisis with your children?
