Kenobi Sushi in the Arboretum
Nestled between TGIFriday's and Serrano's is the very zen-like Kenobi Sushi. If you're on the walkway between the other two, you almost don't notice the gates to a peaceful, bamboo trimmed garden. My mom and I discovered that the garden is actually at the back of the restaurant.
The interior is a bit dark, but the beautifully appointed rooms are calming and fascinating. Fascinating because the interior stone tile creates an unusual contrast to what appears to be silk covered walls and the very dark woods throughout. The flower pod lamps gracefully bowing over booths in the dining room are captivating - I wanted some for my house, lol!
Now, the menu - it is to die for! I had a pair of grilled rib eye rolls, one filled with avocado and the other with Japanese yam, accompanied by miso soup and a light salad. It was a little pricey for lunch, around $20/pp. Then again, it is the Arboretum and Japanese food. I'm anxious to take my DH there.
I wouldn't consider this a family-friendly restaurant.
