Hello! My name is Abbey. I love to craft and have started making hair clips and selling them. It's been going well, but I also want to start embroidering things. In particular I would like to embroider names or initials and cute little kid type of designs. I'm thinking on burp cloths. bibs baby towels etc. Can anyone recommend a machine that would do these types of things? I have no idea where to start looking or what to look for. THanks so much for your help! Abbey

Welcome to the board. Sorry for the delay in answering but I have been out of town and then busy recuperating from it.

JoAnn fabrics has a complete sewing machine department and can show you what each kind does......at least the one here does. They're always glad to demonstrate what each machine can do....You can also google "compare embroidery machines" and get loads of sources.

I'm afraid my machines are too old for recommending anything from them....I have a JC Penney machine that does tiny embroideries....not the larger designs you are looking for.

Perhaps one of the other members will be able to recommend a brand name......we can hope someone has a machine that does exactly what you are looking for!

Again, welcome to the board!

I just came across your post.  I recently bought a Brother Innovis 900D.  It is a combination sewing/embroidery  machine.  It is very easy to operate.  In has many design programmed into the machine and the capability to download more.  It has a good numbr of Disney characters programmed into  I just made 2 Disney Halloween t-shirts for my nieces.  My 11 yr old has even done machine embroidery  very easily.
