Those are really good ideas.
The only thing I didnt like was the floor lamp. I'm not a big fan of anything but ceiling lights. The only room in my house that has lamps is the livingroom & thats only because the livingroom ceiling is all solid wood with beams & I dont want to "ruin" the wood (drilling holes) by installing a ceiling light / fan fixture.

I'm a big advocate of neutral and safe colors, but the interior decorating pictures you posted are sublime! I honestly love how the blue stands out amongst the bevy of colors in the first photo. AMAZING!
