Do you use anything in your home to make it smell nice or just around the holidays?

Like, fragrant candles, plug-ins, cinnamon sticks, pine cones, potpourri, boil some lemon or vanilla?

I am so hooked on those glade fragrant candles and my favorite ones are apple cinnamon and angel whispers. The best thing is when they are done you get a nice drinking glass if you go for the bigger ones. LOL, just have to remember to blow them out before leaving the house.  I also have a potpourri simmer pot and found that a few drops of those concentrated oils work the best mixed with warm water.

I am going to try these Yankee candles next:

I'll let you know how these work!

What is your favorite?

Here is a good recipe if you want to make some rose potpourri:

I have all kinds of scented candles and simmering pots and just forget to use them.  Now that it is getting cooler outside I will try to remember to get them out and use them.

Have you seen these new ones that use a small light bulb instead of a candle to melt the wax?  I was invited to one of those parties where they sell them.  They come in a couple different sizes with what seemed like 100 different scents.  It does appear that they would be a lot safer to use.  Don't have to remember to blow out the candle.

The Yankee Candles are really nice.  I'm sure you will like them.  Everyone around here does.

Personally, I don't like perfumes much --- tend to set off my asthma --- so if I had my druthers, we wouldn't have anything like this. BUT...

DH is fond of candles (I have a fear of the flame, especially with three klutzy cats about, to say nothing of me --- there is a story there but it's nearly 4 AM and I don't feel up to telling it)) and those plug-ins... We had a diffuser set up but he decided he was allergic to it and dumped all the liquid. So we are left with a plug-in in the powder room!

Yankee candles are my FAVORITE!!! As I write this I have 3 of them burning, Trick or Treat in the kids bathroom, Witches Brew in my bathroom & Pumpkin Pie in the kitchen. They make the whole house smell so good. When people walk in my house they say is that the candle thats making your house smell so good? Yup it is.
I have Yankee candles for every month & season. I cant wait until Nov 1st so I can pull out my Autumn Wreath candle, its my favorite.
I also have Jack Frost, Christmas Eve, Christmas Berries, Balsam & Cedar, Home for the Holidays & many many more.
When DH & I moved into this house over 3 years ago I counted all of my Yankee candles and I had over 100 of them HA HA.
Besides their great scent they last forever. I've had some of these candles for years. I burn them during the proper month / season, for example I'm burning the Halloween candles now, if they are not 100% used up by Nov 1st I put them in the closet until next Oct 1st & pull out my Autumn set. The only scents I am not fond of are cherry, tangerine, melon, kiwi & things like that.
Doris I think you will be very happy with your new Yankee candles, just beware that you will become hooked forever (-:
