I'm new and just started studying feng shui. I've been a "pack rat" for many years and I've just started the de-cluttering and feng shui on my house. I have a lot to do and a lot to learn.
My problem with putting the bagua over the whole house is that I have 2 entry doors and can't figure out which should be used as the mouth of chi. The bagua would either set west or south depending on which door I use. I don't want to take a chance on using the wrong entry so I decided to place the bagua over each room instead of the whole house.
I'm putting a tiny (single room) bagua in each gua (or fraction of) the big (whole house) bagua. IF I'm doing this properly, I'll have a tiny career gua, prosperty gua, fame gua, etc. inside each large gua of the whole house.
I'm not sure if I'm explaining this clearly...
Example: Assuming I use the west facing mouth of chi, a bedroom is in the fame gua. If I put the bagua over that bedroom, then I have all 9 gua's in my fame gua. Can I put a water feature in that small career gua or would it kill the fire of the fame gua in that room?
Another example: Assuming the mouth of chi is west, I have a bathroom in my wealth gua. When I put the bagua over that room, it puts the toilet in the wealth gua again. (now I know why I'm broke and deep in debt!)
I have several books on feng shui including "move your stuff change your life" "feng shui for dummies" and "fung shui step by step". I've been reading until I'm almost cross eyed. The more I read, the more confused I get about how to feng shui my house and the acreage.
I learned that the family we bought the place from had lots of problems (money problems, health problems, social problems, etc.) I've learned many things that would have prevented me from buying this house and land if I had known about them before. This was old "outlaw" territory long ago, and there are still a few moon shiners and horse rustlers in the area. The house is over 100 years old so it's easy to believe that people may have died here in the past. I could tell specific stories, but I think you get the general idea. I want to do a rice blessing, but can't find a source for cinnabar. Is there something else to use in place of the cinnabar powder?
Any suggestions or ideas on how to apply any cures and or blessings will be greatly appreciated.
