What do you do if the space you want to clear opens up into another room/space and there is no defining wall or other division? I'm talking about combined dining/kitchen areas, etc. Can you do *just* to part you are focusing on, or do you have to do a thorough cleaning of both areas? Also, what do you do about shelves, etc. that are attached semi-permanently to walls so that you can't get behind them to clean?

Thanks,
Jane

Hi, Jane, and welcome!

In open spaces as you describe, it's best to conduct the space clearing in all the spaces at the same time. The flow of energy goes all through the entire space. If it's impossible to move all the furnishings out of the areas, perhaps you can move them to the center, cover them and conduct your space clearing/cleansing ritual.

Do the best you can with fixed shelves. I use the smallest attachment on my vacuum cleaner to get behind things that cannot be easily moved.

Hope this helps.
