I was looking at the very organized people's lists in the ToDo&TaDa section. I got frustrated & sort of flaked out. There are times in my life when I've had my organization in better shape, but at the moment, I'm not that accepting of making such a big change. Meanwhile, I've gotten the MBR pretty much cleaned up. I've washed & re-hung the curtains on 2 windows - wiped dust off the wall & wiped insides of windows before the curtains went back up. Clothes are getting changed over from summer to fall. Some is getting weeded out; more will need to go... The room is overall cleaner & less cluttered.

Also, the full bathroom is more swished & wiped & clean. I have been laying out clothes some of the time, but not everyday. I clear all the clothes out of the bathroom, & they collect again. It's sort of a slow-motion improvement, going room by room. I'm not used to feeling in charge of the whole thing (currently, the whole mess). Sometimes I walk into an area I've cleaned up, & feel pleasanly surpprised that it's nice now. I'll talk about some livelier stuff tomorrow, maybe.

(((devorah)))

I have been doing the lists for a very long time.  For me if it is not organized it just does not work for me.  I have done many years of hand written lists and checking them off and that work ok for me.  My current system works better for me.

If you look and watch more carefully....many weeks I don't get done what I want to get done.  I can site last week and this week (assembling my paint supplies) did not get completed, I don't freak out I just keep it on my list and wait until I can get it done.  Now this week Tues /Weds both kids have off from school and my schedule reflects that ...much less on list.

I look at what YOU were able to get done  and it makes me smile.  You are flying.  It does not matter what your lists looks like as long as you baby step it and keep at it .  You will be pleasantly surprised- the act of walking into a room and smiling because the room making you happy because it looks a little more nice ....I call those my smile rooms.

My life in general with (a developmentally disabled child/and a teen boy who resents time and effort spent on daughter)  is so chaotic ....my way of dealing with it is to try and be an methodic and organized as possible.  I used to give up and live in the what I thought was the natural state of our home with kids.  I fight it now armed with my beuatiful lists and backfire on me more times than you will ever know.

Please do not look at my small form of perfectionism and think that you need to try and make the flybaby system work for you in the same way.  I think the beauty of the system is that you can work it the way you need to do and what makes sense to you.

(((((Devorah))))  you are doing great!!!!

Hi Devorah! I think you're doing great! Any amount of flying you do makes your home that much cleaner. Remember how things were before the fly-system? So, don't worry about what's not done, but celebrate your accomplishments..the rooms that make you smile! :-)

Definitely don't let our lists get you down! I'm a compulsive list maker, and I need one in front of me. If I don't have it written down, I'll wander around in a fog and pick at one thing or another. Then I'll sit down and forget about doing anything at all! Even with the lists, I don't do it all, but I definitely get more accomplished. Plus, still being new to this, I don't have many routines set in place.

Anyway, I think you're doing great!

I think you are doing great too Devorah - we all have different ways of working, some of us work well with detailed lists for each day, some of us write a few things down that we want to achieve and sometimes we get everything ticked off and sometimes only one item - or none!

Hope you continue to get those great feelings when walking into any of your areas and that this week goes well for you :)
