I am new the the flylady thing, but I am desperate at this point, I am beyond prefectionist but looking at my house you would never know it. I have to figure out a way to get everything in order and I am hoping that this is the answer that I have been looking for.

Hi Brandy! Welcome to the board! I'm so sorry I haven't replied sooner! Things have been very hectic this week!

I know what you mean about being a perfectionist but your house not showing it. I wish my house reflected it too. LOL!

I am not going to go into some big lecture about what to do or what not to do. There's only a few things I will tell you.

Stop being a perfectionist! Life happens. You've just got to go with the flow. Not everything is going to be the way you want it and that's okay.

The only thing I want you to do is shine your kitchen sink each night before you go to bed. A clean sink flows over into the rest of the kitchen which in turn flows into the rest of the house. I cleaned my sink after I put the dishes away and the rest of my kitchen got cleaned as well. I still have one 'catch all' counter that I am working on today but I have spent only 15 minutes on it and it is looking amazing already.

I also want you to lay your clothes out for the next day before you go to bed. Do that with your little one as well. That will save time in the morning and stress of 'what am I going to wear!' syndrome. You know the one. where you know what you want to wear but can't find everything so you spend all the morning looking all over the house just to find that it's in the wash or something and then you stress out even more. NOT a good way to start the day. It kind of sets the whole day up for failure.

Another thing I want you to do is have some quiet mom time before you go to bed. Whether it be reading a book, cuddling with your sweetie or something else. There is nothing else that is more important than taking a few minutes for yourself.

Good luck and let us know how it goes for you!

I am working on it, I just wish that I could find a board that did a buddy program, I know that it isn't the point and that the point is to be able to do it on your own but I really want to succeed and I know that I would have a better chance if I had someone to be an accountability buddy, but that is just me, I do better if I have someone making sure I do what I am supposed to be doing.

You want a buddy system? You are at the right place!

I used to cl a get fit. loseweight board and we buddied up on there because it really helped us stay accountable and I was on there ALL the time!

I will be more than willing to be on here all the time to help give you encouragement and motivation! It will also keep me on here making sure that I do my 'job'.

Let us know how youve done since you stopped by!

Hi Brandy, welcome from me, too!!

I've not been too crash-hot on keeping to my full routines - or even the basics listed by Lynda - but just having those working really settle me down for the day.

I notice (and so does my cat!) when I don't do them - I fell happier in the morning walking into a clean kitchen, and I am calmer in the mornings - and find I then have time to do a 5 hot-spot fire drill or something! Mornings they're not there, I just start off in a funk.

Keep posting your successes, and vent when you're not getting to routines - we completely understand!!

Siggy
