I heard a discussion the other day about hand santizer and thought I would get your opinion.

Do you think it's acceptable to get the hand sanitizer out of your pocket book at a restaurant and sterilize your hands at the table?   Or do you think it's wrong and one should head to the restroom?

I think it's appropriate anytime you think to use it.

If more people saw you do that, the more likely they will as well.

In these days of H1N1, we shouldn't worry about bringing out the hand sanitizer, or how it looks.

I think it's OK to use it whenever and where ever you want. With H1N1 running wild in my area, it's common to see people using it often. Every public building here now has dispensers at the entrances, as well as other prominent locations.

I believe it is perfectly acceptable to use hand sanitizers anywhere, anytime. Having said that, if you are in a restaurant and there is a restroom, actual hand washing with soap and water is recommended over hand sanitizer.

I think it depends on the situation.   If I am in a restaurant, why not use the bathroom soap and water?  I tend to see hand sanitizer as a portable thing when away from running water.    I think it would be ok in say a mcdonalds when you are with a bunch of little kids and its not convenient to get away from the table without taking the little rugrats with you.   I think it would be tacky to pull it out at a nice restaurant. I mean, other than being too lazy to get up and wash your hands, what would be the reason?  personal grooming should be done in the restroom.    but then I hate people who pick their teeth at the table too, but those little plastic things with floss on them seem to be everywhere now.
