day of the week to travel? Do you prefer to leave over a weekend? Do you like the thought of leaving during the quiet of a weekday? When do you usually plan to leave on your trips?

If we are flying, I like to leave first thing in the morning on a weekday.  Airports haven't had a chance to get as crowded yet and most everybody travelling at that time of day are business travellers who have the routine down - you generally don't have many novices or families with children who muck up the security lines, block aisles, and generally make a nusance of themselves ;)

If we are travelling by car, then I like to leave any time when we wont hit commute traffic.
