Ohh I dread to think!! That is one of the bad things about frost-free freezers, you never have to do the complete clear-out - I LOL at the last one ;-))

We moved recently and had to get rid of the big freezer. It wasn't frost free, so I don't think I'm going to miss it very much! I do miss that space, but I won't miss the defrost.  I would defrost and clean it thoroughly approximately every six months. As far as the refrigerator goes, I haven't cleaned it out since we moved. I've been very lazy and haven't quite gotten back into my flylady routines, though each day I'm filled with good intentions. When I do get back in the game, I'll clean out the fridge 15 minutes each week..Usually getting to the freezer every other week. I love my kitchen timer! Now, just to get back to the routines so I'll feel like myself again!

one thing that can help me when I look at my large fridge and think it is overdue a cleanout is do it one shelf at a time - helps to find those jars of "stuff" lurking too, I got rid of a lot of little jars this weekend ;-)

Yes grab your timer and see how much you can do in even 5 minutes - good luck!!

Sheila, you and I clean our fridges the same way. Before flylady, I felt like I had to take EVERYTHING out of the fridge and clean from top to bottom. Thank goodness I found her many years ago, because when I had that mindset, I would feel so overwhelmed that it wouldn't get done at all until I almost needed health inspectors to come and have a look..haha The timer truly is, as flylady has said, my best friend! Not only with the fridge, but in all aspects. I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but years ago, you couldn't see my bedroom floor for the clutter of clothes and whatever else! I'm ashamed to admit that I let my family live like that..The CHAOS was so true, in our case and heaven forbid if anyone should knock on the door..I would go into panic mode and either pretend I wasn't home, or step out on the porch to visit. I felt like I was living in a prison. My life is so much more pleasant now. Even when I'm not flying 100%, I am always prepared for anyone to come into the house at any time. What a different life we live and I am so grateful to Marla Cilley! Wow..talk about getting off topic!!! I do wish that everyone that lives the life I formerly lived could learn about her system, though..She has been a Godsend! I told you I can be wordy..LOL Have a great day! :)
