52-Year-Old Appliances Move From Sand Springs To Maytag Museum

http://www.newson6.com/Global/story.asp?S=11355567#

Love this story and especially love that she says if the new set doesn't work so well she'll be wanting her old set back! LOL

I know I typed out a repsonse to this the other day grghhhhh!!!

I love this story - and the pink looks great too, only hope her new set works as well and for even a fraction of that time too!!

Anyone get any stories of old appliances?

My sister had a coffee maker that she got given for her engagement - and she just celebrated her 30th Wedding Anniversary!!!

I got a Kenmore microwave as a wedding present back in 1985.  I really wanted a new one that went over the stove so I passed the old one to my sister about three years ago. She's still using it.

That is doing well Amy -  I realised this morning that my crcokpot is from about 1984 - although it did have a period of time just stuck in the cupboard - I love it as it isn't as highly powered as some of the modern ones, so you can put something on at the start of the day and it won't have overcooked at 7pm (which I found with one of the newer ones!) - I just dread cracking the pot or lid and having to replace it :(
