Scrapbooking

I'm going to try this again! But this time I am going to write this and then post the picture in a seperate post. That way if it freezes on me again I won't lose all I wrote. Hopefully I will be able to get the picture posted too.

I did this make-n-take at CKC. It is made with a 12x12 canvas board and a 6x6 canvas board.  I like the colors, but the theme was beach and I really don't have much in the line of beach pictures so I didn't put on all their embellishments, as most of them refered to the beach or ocean.   That is the one problem with these make-n-takes, they choose the theme and so often they don't make it a generic one. But I do like the technique, so I made it.

Because of the colors, I am thinking I may use it with pictures of Jaryd and then if I can find the canvas boards I may make one for Kelsie too.

There is so much you could do to change the look of this project, it lends itself to a lot of different embellishments etc. So you could do any theme and make it 'say' whatever you want it to say.

Hopefully there will be another post with the picture. If I can't get it to go up now, I will try again another time.

Cute!! Since it's canvas board, will you use it as a display piece rather than place it in a book? I'm assuming it's too bulky for a book. Excuse my obvious ignorance on this, Kristie! I like the idea of a canvas display piece. Would any artist canvas work? I actually have several I purchased years ago to do something for O's room that never happened LOL! Maybe I could use it for this!! I might make one for our lake house.

Right this will either hang on a wall or sit in a little stand, the kind used for plates and such.  I'm sure you could use any kind of canvas, in fact the ones that are stretched canvas on a wood frame might be even better, they could stand on their own and would be easier to hang.

I guess the thing is to be sure you get that paper stuck on really well and that small canvas board needs some heavy duty adhesive. They had a glue there for us to use, of course, it was the "super duper" glue that they sell. LOL!

I think they could make some really cute pieces to hang on the wall and the dimension would be pretty neat.  You could do some really cool things with those canvases. I used ink to color the edges of the canvas, but you could use paint instead if you wanted.

Using canvases must be the rage now, there were a few booths that had projects and displays that used artist canvases.

If you do use them for a project or two, please do post them. I'd love to see what you do.
