My headboard sure is a focal point, its sooooooooooooooo big. My headboard is about 7' tall by 12' wide!!! Its got drawers under the bed, built in night stands, tons of storage, lights, mirrors........ 6 years ago when we got this bed is was great then when it was time to move, not so great. We literally had to ask the realtor for measurements of the master bedroom before we even bothered to go look at the house, if the wall wasnt atleast 12' wide there was no point in us going to look at the house because our bed wouldnt fit HA HA.
Well I'm over this bed. I would love to have one of those great big 4 poster beds with the metal canopy but that wont work either because it would come within an inch or 2 of our ceiling fan!
So I've decided on one of those big chunky headboard & footboards, a nice rich wood with really pretty carvings & either ball or claw feet.
The only catch is I have to sell my bed first, problem: see above LOL

We have one of those monster headboards in our master bedroom. They were quite the thing when we bought it but it does limit the use of the room. Only one wall in the MBR is big enough for it!

Yes they were "quite the thing" when we got ours too, gosh they seemed to go out of style shortly after LOL.
I've listed mine for sale many times & its still sitting here ugh. If it doesnt sell soon I guess we could chop it up & use it for firewood HA HA.
