3 Holiday Tables, 23 New Ideas

Do you have enough real plates to feed a crowd? Or do you always rely on paper/plastic when you have a lot of guests?

Hi Amy,

Those are wonderful ideas. I actually wrote down a few that I'm going to try.
I already have white dishes so thats covered.
I'd like to do a fabric table runner & cloth napkins. I'll have to take a drive to JoAnns and find some pretty fall fabric.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up doing Thanksgiving this year because I'm a SAHM and I've got the biggest house! I dont mind doing the holidays at my house, I acutally enjoy it I just dont like the fact that everybody cant sit together. I have a diningroom with a large oval table & 6 chairs but my guests list is always around 25-30 people. Any ideas on how I could arrange things so everybody can sit and eat dinner together?

I have a similar issue with table/chairs not matching number of expected guests. I have set up satellite tables in the adjacent foyer which is wide open to our dining room and played the "children's table" thing but... Kicking myself for only buying six chairs at teh time we bought our dining set!

I'd say there's no way you're going to get everyone together.

When I have to split everyone up I always make placecards, however. That way they know where they're going to sit and there's not a lot of mingling around while they try to decide.

Hi Amy,

The only way I can think of to sit everybody together would be to set a bunch of tables & chairs outside. I'm going to consider it if the weather is nice. Its still in the mid 80's here in Florida!!!
I've never done place  cards, thats a neat idea though.
