I found this show shocking.
I am saddened & bewildered to see there are so many people out of work and who have lost their homes, AND have no where to live, except to join in these Tent Cities which have been popping up in many states.

I never thought I would see anything like this in the US during my lifetime.

Thoughts, anyone?

I live about 20 miles from a big city.  There are tent cities there.  I have a feeling this is only the tip of an iceberg that has been kept under wraps for 4-5 years.  I live in Ohio and the un-employment is awful.

My heart breaks for these families.  For Gods sake, this is America.  This isn't suppose to happen here.

I saw the show too.  I have mixed feelings about it.  First, this could happen to anyone.  But, for the first woman with the children, I found it odd that her husband would be staying with friends while she bounced from shelter to shelter with the children  I know there are some shelters that just take women and children, but what kind of man would allow his wife and children to be on the streets while he sleeps in the comfort of someone's home?  Also, I think it is sad that some of the folks did not feel comfortable asking their children for help.  But I wonder what kind of relationship they have with their children because we would certainly know if our parents were on the street because we talk to them almost everyday (and I live in California and they live in Maryland) and my sister visits often because they are in the same state.

I didn't see that part (about Husband).  I was busy and forgot to change the channel.   I do understand about not asking your children for help.  Your the parent.  Your suppose to take care of your kids.  I've had health issues.  I find it difficult to ask for help from kids.   I just got the feeling they were having problems.  Just the way the woman acted.  Maybe these friends are worse than the street.  I find it so sad that so many are homeless.  The couple that were living in their office.  Loved them.
