I have a pot of cabbage boiling on the stove and the house is getting quite stinky.

How do you handle getting rid of kitchen odors?

Oh that is nasty,, I start by not ever serving cabbage!    WEll , I come from german heritage and my dad ate lots of cabbage and potatoes ,, so after he married  my mom,  he told her never ever to cook cabbage.  She never did.  LOL   Therefore if I want cabbage ..........well I never do...  ;O)

Anyway,,, keep the window cracked and the exhaust hood on the entire time you are cooking it.   AFterwards,,, you need to boil some water with peppermint and cinnamon,, through in an apple,, or just make applesauce.      I also have a nice little scented oil burner (decorative) and I burn it in kitchen with a heavy smelling XMAS scent  ...... that usually works,,  but you have to air out the entire house after cooking onions or cabbage ....  (don't forget to keep the kitchen doors closed while cooking.)

Wonder what the others will say...

I really dislike the smell of anything that has been cooked in the microwave ... even things like popcorn. EEEEEEEEEW!

So I fill a 2 -quart Pyrex measure with 2 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in the microwave and let it boil till I can smell the sweetness.

You can almost "taste" the sweetness but it's not overpowering.

I open the kitchen windows as much as weather permits. I also spray Claire Burke Applejack & Peel around and light a cinnamon & cider candle.

Here's a video of ways to rid your kitchen of cooking smells.
I have found that the vinegar doesn't work very well, but read that if you leave the vinegar out over night, it does work.
My favorite would be boiling lemon, cloves and cinnamon.
