I am trying to quit smoking again. In the past, I have tried Nicorette, the patch, the lozenges and Chantex. I am currently using Chantex. I have also attended Smoking Cessation classes. Any other suggestions?

Hi there,
Congradulations for trying to quit smoking!
One of the hardest things to do .. I know well!
Have you already quit or picked a date to quick ?
I hear the Chantix is very good to help one quit.
Some things that worked for me were ..
Drinking lots of water all day.
Have some hard candy like lifesavers or another of your favorite around.
When you think you want to smoke .. enjoy those lifesavers.
Also online support can also be quite helpful.
Here is a support board that will help ..

Please let us know how you are doing .. Good luck & stick with it!
You are well worth it :)

Both my DH and MIL used Zyban to stop smoking, with great success.  My MIL had been smoking for over 20 years, and since taking Zyban, has not smoked for almost 2 years now.  DH had only been smoking for about 5 years, but has been smoke free for 18 months.  They reported no side effects, no cravings, nothing.

Good luck, and congrats on deciding to go smoke free!!!

I am planning on quitting smoking too, after 28 years.  I've tried Chantix before, and am starting it again today.  The only other suggestions I have is to get a buddy, pick a quit date and check out Oprah's's web site.  Dr Oz was on yesterday and there is supposed to be info on Oprah's site for quitting smoking, except they call it breath easy or something like that.
