I was a sophomore in college when 9/11 happened.  I remember watching the events unfold on the T.V in our dorm lounge, feeling sad and shocked at how something like this could happen.  My first thought was why would some one do this.  At that time I certainly had no idea of the impact on the aviation industry or the heroism of those directly involved that day.  My understanding of 9/11 was limited to what I saw on the news.  I want to thank Tom Murphy for his book “Reclaiming the Sky”, for opening my eyes to a deeper exploration of the impact from 9/11 and for telling the heroic stories of the aviation workers who acted so courageously that day.  After reading, “Reclaiming the sky” I came away with so many great lessons on how to deal with loss in life.  These stories offered so much to all of us on how to cope with tragedy and sudden change in life.  I
found that I was able to use these lessons to recover from a difficult and sudden change in my life these past years.   “Reclaiming the sky” opened my eyes to the impact from 9/11 and too the heroism of the aviation workers who not only responded that day, but continued to respond and get America flying again.  Thank you for such a wonderful life lesson.
