i have seen as a budget saving answer to divide your monthly mortgage payments into 2 making them bi-weekly. i did this very thing not realizing that the bank was charging $4/transaction. so i was actually losing $8/month. if you want to lower your mortgage, i suggest going up to the next $25 increment in your mortgage. it will be applied to your principal and will take some yrs. off the back end of your mortgage. the biweekly is only good if there are no charges by your bank.
