To answer your question, no it is not normal or usual for there to be no record of a 2004 bankruptcy discharge in your public records. The date the bankruptcy is filed (not the discharge date) is the information that should appear for the next 10 years (for Chapter 7 and only 7 years for Chapter 13) in the public records section of the credit report. If your report is free of this listing, then it is an error in your favor (although some of your credit entries will show the bankruptcy).
