I guess this is more of a vent that anything.
My hubby, Nathan just crossed from the Navy into the Army.
He was supposed to be a corrections officer w/ the Army, we were already given our orders.
Well at the same time when he signed the paper work he was also told his security clearance was being revoked. But it wasn't a big issue just that he couldn't get orders out of the US, which I was happy about!!
Well now come to find out since his security clearance was revoked he cannot do corrections at all, so his orders were just cancled.
Why?? Bc/ we filled for Bankruptcy last yr.....What in the world would that have to do w/ anyting!!?? I'm so ticked off right now, I guess the Army would rather us not be able to feed our kids and not do the bankruptcy than to do it and have money to support the family. I didn't think it would ever affect us like this!!!
I'm just praying now he can find decent orders.

Thanks for letting me vent.
Nancy

Vent all you want.

It would be nice if the military paid their service people decent wages anyway. I served 8 years in regular Army, so I know what I'm talking about. My ex was also in the Army as an officer and it was disgusting to see how many of his troops were living at or below poverty level and had to take charity to make ends meet. When we had Desert Storm in Kuwait, our local Loaves and Fishes had loooong lines of families waiting for bags of groceries. These families lives were turned upside down by the government and they had no money for the basics.

Nancy, your post through up red flags of me. I have a federal government job that I start March 28, 2005. This week I talk to a federal investgatetor for two hours this week, about my application. There was one more lady that had to talk to him also about a month ago. Here are the red flags, we all have filed bankruptcy.

hi Jenny,

I hope you Bankruptcy doesn't affect your job...My MIL told me yestrerday that she tried to get a job w/ the post office and they wouldn't hire her b/c of the Bankruptcy they did.

But I know my hubby was going to work for Loomis Fargo (handling lots of money) and the Bankruptcy didn't matter at all.

I thought it would just screw up our credit not decide everything else like my hubbys career in the Army.

Hi Nancy sorry to hear your problems. I have heard that you can appeal a security clearance but I cannot tell you if that is true or not. My husband just filled all the things out to renew his so we will see what comes of his. I know Jag has a discussion of security clearance and bankruptcy at their website. I don't know if I can post the link here or not but a "jag bankruptcy" search on a search engine should get you to it.

Hope it helps,
Alissa
