Hi everyone! I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself I'm Julee in Arkansas. Hubby and I've been married 21 years and we have a 17 yo DD. I religiously track every cent we spend and have done so for years. Unfortunately, I just watch it flow away from me and I'm not good about budgeting!

I did have a one year subscription to Dave Ramsey's TMMO but let it expire. I'm going to frequent this board instead and try to save my subscription fees. The only debt we have is our home, a home equity line of credit and a vehicle. I'm also still paying on some doctor's bills from a surgery earlier this year. Basically, we have no savings and I don't sleep well at night without a cushion. We did have a $1,000 EF in place earlier this year, but emergencies happened and I've not been able to replenish it.

Anyway, I look forward to participating here and hope I can contribute something as well.

Hi Julie.

My name is Stacy, I live in New Hampshire and dh, Greg, and I have been married for 17 years and we have a 16 year old son.

I too follow Dave Ramsey, but I never did a subscription to his website. Instead I focused on things here and other free groups for both debt support and budgeting. It helps a lot.

I know how those set backs can be. In 2004 we were debt free besides our mortgage. Then I got ill and spent 9 days in a coma and required three surgeries, physical therapy and a year in and out of the hospital. So it waws back to square one for us paying off medical and credit card bills. It also wiped out our savings.

Today we are back on track but it was a rough few years to get there. We are once again debt free besides our mortgage and our goal is to begin BS #6 in January. But it's going to take some major savings to get things into place before then.

It's too late for the college savings for us so we are going to support our son by continuing to pay for his cell phone and car insurance and picking up the tab for his books and supplies. We are starting to put money into sinking funds for that.

Welcome to the group.
