I can see both sides of this story. But... the toddler was only two, and saying "Go plane, go!" is hardly enough IMO to kick him off the plane. Yikes! Maybe the crew could have done something to help quiet him instead? What do you think?

Southwest apologizes to mom kicked off flight

2-year-old’s ‘Go! Plane! Go!’ and ‘I want Daddy’ screams too much for crew

SAN JOSE, Calif. - A spokesman for Southwest Airlines says the carrier has apologized to a mother who was kicked off a plane along with her unruly 2-year-old earlier this week.

I think that was very extreme. I fly continental so not sure how they do it, but on continental they have their videos going every 2 seats and the video provides the instructions while the flight attendant demonstrates. The attendant does not eve try to shout to have everyone hear her, which is good because that would be ridiculous. While I can totally understand how that would be annoying, there is no way he was so loud he blocked out the instructions if they were on DVD like with continental. Also I agree with the mom, he probably would have calmed down once the plane started moving. As for her wanting to be paid for the crib, why on earth did she buy a crib for ONE night? He is 2, they could have shared a bed at the hotel they stayed in. So I do think that demand is ridiculous. Once more on the other side a $300 voucher to the same airline isn't worth poo, they should have given her her money back. I guess they assume she will either fly with them again and use it, or more likely be so mad at them they can get away without actually paying her back since she won't use the voucher. As a mom I think I would have tried anything to quiet my kid down, rather then let them sit there and scream. Whether it be snacks, a book, your cell phone, or even punishment, she should have tried to quiet him instead of letting him scream while waiting for take off. I understand you can't control that completely, but I do think had she been actively trying they might not have decided to kick her off. Sounds more like she was just letting him scream. Thats my 54c lol.

i agree.. obviously the kid was just being unruly, it doesn't sound like he was crying or scared of the plane.. she was just letting him scream whatever he wanted, and it doesn't seem like she was trying to quiet him... if the kid was scared of flying, thats another story.. but just screaming to hear himself scream, and mom not doing enough to quiet him.. something has to be done..

I think that was a little extreme to say the least. I am sure thechild would have calmed down soon after take off, and if not I am very sure that flight couldn't have been that long. So dealing with an unruly toddler for I am guessing 3 hours at most, couldn't be so bad. If any thing the other patrons of the flight would just give her a hard time or complain too!!!
