I went in for my level II and they found 2 cysts on his little brain, a heart defect and enlarged kidneys.  They did an amnio and now I just don't know what to think.  The Dr. said he really feels these are all fixable - but I am so overwhelmed right now.  Please pray as I won't have any answers for a week...

Anyone ever heard of this happening? Kidneys measured 5mm and the cut off is 4mm - cysts on each side of his brain and the heart is the bottom chamber not closing properly called vsd (I think) : (

Hi, Jodi-

I don't have any experience with this, but wanted to let you know that I'll be thinking about you and your little boy.  I know it sounds overwhelming, but the good news is that the doctor sounds positive.  Hopefully the amnio will give you some better information.  I know it will be a long week waiting for the results... hang in there.

Hi Jodi. I'm sorry you got such upsetting news. I also don't have any experience with this but like Reena said, it's good news that the doc was positive about what he found. Please keep us posted on the results of your amnio, etc.. Best wishes to you. I'll keep you and your little bean in my thoughts.

Jodi

I have had the double cysts on my 5th child a daughter us , around 21 weeks the doctors tryed to scare us into having a amnio, we said why they said they couldn't tell for sure if anyting was wrong and if something was she would die inside me or at birth.

We said , no to the amnio and new in are hearts she would be ok, I had researched on line about the double cysts and they said 90% of the time they go away on it's on by 27 weeks, so at 27weeks we had another us and they were gone. never thought about it again through out my pregnancy. and when she was born she was very healthy and normal and beautiful........

I will pray for your little guy, just know that sometimes too much info, is not good and makes us all worry for nothing, let it go in gods hands and trust it will be ok. I know if i would not have had a us at 21 weeks w/her we wouldn't of seen the cysts and would not of worry because they were gone at 27 weeks.

my thaought and prayers are with you

Rose

Thank you everyone - I think they are mostly concerned because they saw three organs affected with the heart the most concerning and as we all know my age : ) but my afp and the nuchal fold was great so I am hopeful these are all things that are fixable and it is in God's hands...  I am trying to stay positive.  I did the amnio really to prepare and give this little guy everything we can.
