Finally that BFP!  Pregnant with #3 (ds-8, ds-3).  I am so nervous that it won't last.  Had secondary infertility and difficulty conceiving.  BFP in January, but mc at 6 weeks.

Right now 12 dpo and faint pink line on 1st pregnancy test.  Second test just to make sure...digital test said "yes."  Already made appointment with doctor tomorrow, but I am terrified right now.

I am searching the internet, trying to find all foods to avoid.  Any thoughts or suggestions please?  This could be a long trimester!!!

Congratulations!!  I am also 42 1/2 and pregnant with our second.  It happened naturally and was a bit of a surprise!  I am definitely more scared this time around.  I am only 6 weeks along and haven't even seen the Dr yet.  They didn't think I needed my hormone levels checked or anything, which has me a bit concerned.  I feel like I am not doing enough!  My first appt is Monday.  I won't believe it until I see or hear a hearbeat.  Its soo hard not to dwell on every symptom I am having or not having and read into it.  The only thing I keep telling myself is to take it one day at a time.

It sounds like you will be right on top of things with your doctor.  Good luck!!  I'd be interested in keeping in touch with you as we progress! Sending sticky vibes for both of us!!

Oh - and as far as things to avoid, the hardest things for me to give up have been red wine and caffeine LOL!!  Other than that I try to eat healthy and avoid cold cuts and fish with murcury (tuna for example).  I also stopped taking my OTC allergy medication.

Good luck!

Congratulations!!!

I quit the morning coffee cold turkey, substituting steamed milk (not quite the same effect - LOL).  I have also cut all the other things that you suggested.  Incidentally, I know it's routine for the doctors to wait until you are 8 weeks along for that 1st appointment, but I had miscarried at least 2 times before and had been told that I should be put on progesterone immediately if I conceived again.  It definitely put my mind to ease, although it was a rather unpleasant shot in the backside. Oh, by the way, I was also given the h1n1 vaccine. I didn't want it because my first mc happened not long after a flu shot and I've always wondered if there could have been a connection.  However, my health care provider does not think there is a high risk of mc, but is aware of the exceptionally high risk to pregnant woman of the swine flu.

Sending you lots of sticky baby vibes!!!!

Congratulations!  Welcome.  You are good, I don't think I ever looked into foods to avoid.  I bet the list has changed since I was last pregnant.  Sushi must still be there, right?

Linda
