The baby woke up at 6am this morning and I was *not* ready to get up - but DH and I have been doing alternate mornings and yesterday was his turn so I had to get up today (though of course yesterday when it was HIS day she slept till 7am so I was getting up anyway). The worst thing about her waking early is that she's a pain to be with - really grumpy and sometimes she even hits me, which I don't handle well when I'm tired myself (she's only 17 months). This morning I just could NOT handle it and ended up shouting at her and DS (sigh).

But then I realised I'd just ovulated, and I was actually feeling bloated and crampy too. I've been noticing lately that all my menstrual symptoms have been getting a lot stronger since P was born (or maybe since turning 35) - I never used to notice them much at all but now I know exactly when I'm fertile, and when I ovulate, and when AF is coming... I've always heard of PMS, but does anyone know if you can get hormone effected moods around ovulation time?

Anyway I'm noting all this stuff in my diary now, to see if there's a pattern. I have a 0-5 scale for rating each day, where 0 is totally fine and 5 is a major outburst. Mostly I seem to give myself 1.5-3. I guess this morning was about a 4. I'm going to have to do this for a few months before I can really see if there's a pattern though.

I don't know if this means anything or not, really, but
I have been suffering from BAD temper tantrums 2 or 3 days a month.
I have discovered that it is always about 4 or 5 days before I get my monthly.
I never had PMS before, and only now have had it for about 6 months.
I have had 3 babies, and am currently 33 years old, I think that could all have something to do with it.

When I was taking Vitamin B supplement, I was relieved of the depression but now I've got the rage thing going on.

I've been speaking to a few other people about this, including on my playgroup board, and quite a few people have said they've found their pms symptoms have got stronger into their 30's. I'm trying to predict danger days in my diary now, just so I know that they're not the best days to be staying up late and not getting enough sleep! Also so I know to give myself more time in the morning, which is a particular time of potential stress for me.

Thanks for replying.

((((Carol))))

I'm sorry you had a rough morning. I think your diary is a great idea. There often are hormones playing some part is how we react as well as other things that are happening in our life that we don't even connect with the anger at the time.

I hope your week since then has gone much better.
