I was just trying to make conversation with a volunteer at work about the weekend. I should have known better, considering how other conversations have gone with this guy. I asked what he and his kids would be doing for Halloween. He said he doesn't celebrate that satanic holiday worshiping the devil, witches and vampires. They were going to their church. Just the day before, I had suggested a book for his kids. He said are there witches in it? It takes place in Disney, so yeah. He said "You probably let your kids read Harry Potter too." I told him of course, it's a great series. He told me he only read real stories about Jesus and God. I rolled my eyes and said, "real, yeah." Then left it at that. Ugh. I understand watching what your kids read, but that's total censorship and control.
