Atheist/Agnostic Parenting

For the last 11 years I have been a SAHM. My youngest just started school and I am at a complete loss about how to claim my life back. I really need to start doing something for me but I have nothing. I need a swift kick to get me back out into the real world again.

Well, I've been reading "Wired Science" and "Science Daily" and "Archeological News" daily and I've been following a few stories there. Some interesting news stories on the "Archeological News" website about DNA. I simply am in AWE of the amount and types of information and implications coming from DNA research.

There is always great stuff on "Science Daily". I guess most of my reading lately there has been on brain functioning since the kids are learning about the brain. Seriously, if you haven't spent time learning about the brain, you are really missing out!

Elections.  We had elections yesterday for a new Mayor and part of the City Council.  Since I work for the city TV station, I was extra interested in the outcome.  I wasn't thrilled with either choice but the lesser of two evils one.  The winner actually wrote a letter to the school board saying the teaching of evolution lead to the Holocaust.  So you know the other choice had to be pretty bad for me to vote for him.
