We're about to enter our busy season.  Wedding this weekend, a quick weekend trip to Disney next weekend.  Then Thanksgiving, another quick Disney trip.  (First is for some golf tournament, the second is our tradition of checking out the Osbourne lights.)  The day after Christmas, we're taking off for a week to Pigeon Forge, TN.  Another Disney trip after that for MLK day.  So I think I'll be able to take a breather again by February.  Somewhere in there I need to find time to shop, work, and spend time with my family.

I'm a major holiday pre planner. I have a good chunk of my holiday shopping done already.  I hold that Christmas is a month long holiday that starts with Thanksgiving (which is why Santa is at the end of the parade) and so I'm not REALLY all that early if I start doing stuff now.

I'm the freak who actually listens to the radio stations that start playing holiday music this week already.

Our family is all local so no traveling required. I get to have lots of time baking, making my own cards, and watching tv specials by the fire.

I donated my freezer stash of EBM to another mom through

We are just the opposite, The Reluctant Holiday Revelers.

We would prefer to sit on the sides while everyone goes mad with decorations, shopping, nuttiness...

Instead, we host several family events and wish we could just skip it all.

I despise the holidays.I decorate and go through the motions just so my little ones can have fun time. I would love to celebrate with just my immediate family, it is fun to watch my girls faces as they open presents Christmas morning, but then the madness begins and the in-laws come over and ruin everything. My mother-in-law goes especially nuts and she is all about material things and who got what for who. It drives me crazy! I know I shouldn't let someone else's actions determine my own happiness and good time, but it's nearly impossible to try and have fun around them. One of these days I'm going to talk my husband into a Disney vacation over the holidays!

I keep telling my husband that when the kids get older, we're going to do a Disney cruise over Christmas to avoid family issues.  We're doing that now with Thanksgiving every other year.
