My twins are 9 months old now (8 months adjusted) and have been eating solids since just before 6 months. I've made all their food until now and I just don't know what to feed them next.

They've had all the basics - sweet potato, avacado, apples, pears, nectarines, apricots, banana, squash, peas, carrots, and a few more. They have had cauliflower but I'm waiting on broccoli cause DS has bad gas as it is - I don't want to make it worse. They've tried chicken - HATE IT! So, over the next few days, I;m going to try beef. Later, I'll try chicken again. All foods are now chunky. They eat yogurt, toast and sometimes a little bit of muffins.

I just feel like I should be moving on to the next step - but don't know what that is.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Lentils, beans, salmon, sardines, asparagus, green beans, oatmeal. My kids had broccoli early and never had gas.

How did you make the chicken? Harrison never liked plain chicken but he really loved it poached, pureed, and mixed with apples and sweet potatoes.

Some other food you can try are scrambled egg yolks, papaya, mango, cottage cheese, asparagus, green beans, summer and winter squash (I'm not sure which one they've had), white potatoes (you can mash them and if they've had yogurt you can use that as your "sour cream"), watermelon, plums, peeled small pieces of grapes. If you want to start introducing more meat I would stick with what they like and use those as mixers with the chicken or beef that you give them.

Have you dabbled in the wonderful world of dairy products yet?? That came around the same time as she began meats in our house. Keep trying meats. I found that if I cooked her meats in the crock pot they stayed much moister and almost "fell apart" and made it very easy to eat. I used to make mix and match meals for Heidi and would add a veggie cube, a meat cube, and often mixed that with yogurt or sour cream. she loved that! I also did small grain cous cous and mixed it in the above too.

One of Heidi's favorite things to eat is pasta. She started with spaghetti. I would combine pasta and sauce then pulse it in the food processor a few times so it was chopped. I freeze it in muffin tins. Once she got a little older we moved to rotini noodles. I add the noodles to the muffin tin, then top with sauce and then either cottage cheese or ricotta for some added dairy.

HTH. Meats can be a little tricky because you will never get them like a Gerber puree. I did shredded meats and she quickly got used to that. Happy cooking for your twins!
