Hey everyone! I've been doing the baby food making thing for a while and love it. The other day in the grocery store, I noticed in the regular frozen produce section that my grocery store carries already cooked and frozen pureed squash. As far as I can tell it's just squash and no preservatives. It's not meant as baby food. I guess people use it for dishes. Has anyone ever seen that before and/or used it as baby food? I was thinking it would be easier than making squash for Ali (that can sometimes be a pain) but I wasn't sure... Thoughts? It should be the same thing right? It's a fairly small package so I was thinking of thawing it and putting it into Baby Cubes to store in the fridge to add to a week's worth of meals since I can't make it into my frozen cubes.

Hi Marlena : )

I tried this once for my family.  I thought it would make a good side dish. It was way too runny for our taste but might be good for your LO.  I like mine just a litte bit more on the thicker side. Try it though, it might work for you.

Oh and just a p.s. if you choose to thaw it and refreeze it for cubes make sure that it has not been previously cooked.  Any frozen already cooked food can't be refrozen.

Good luck!

I haven't seen that before it sounds perfect for babies! You could try to let it thaw a little bit on the counter and then run a warm/hot knife and cut it into pieces.. that might keep you from totally defrosting it. Good luck!
