Does anyone know if it matters the weight of the child on the Baby Trend Sit n' Stand? Some says 40# max and some say 45# max. My 4 y.o. is teetering around 38-39# and I would like to get a Sit n' Stand type stroller. It doesn't have to be Baby Trend. Anyone have experience with Joovy?

Hi there - our sit n stand was 40#. It was the Baby Trend model. You might try Googling and seeing if you can find the manuals online. I'm not sure if the weight has gone up or not?

Good luck - my son hit 40lbs at 3 1/2 so we just got rid of ours!

Hi Heidi!

The official weight limit on all the Sit-n-Stand models from the Baby Trend website is 40lbs per child. (www.babytrend.com) I can tell you my experience ... I've had my 60lb child on there with no trouble, and I've also had three kids on there at once (an infant in the teens weight wise, a toddler in the 30s, and the older child) and all that happened is it was hard to push, LOL.  I do this sporadically, not daily ... sometimes it's just one of those days.  I'm not saying it's ok to go against your stroller recommendations ... just what I've done.  I happen to believe they give strollers a weight limit below what it's capable of actually handling for legal reasons, but that's just my opinion.  FWIW, I love our Sit-n-Stand and would buy another in a heartbeat if we were in the market for one.  It's been a while since I compared it to the Joovy, but I felt the Baby Trend had a bit more room and was easier to push/steer.  Of course, the Joovy comes in lots of super cool colors and has a wee bit higher weight limit.  *shrug*

The offical weight limit on the Joovy Caboose models (regular and ultralight) from the Joovy website is 45 lbs.  (www.joovy.com)

Both are GREAT strollers and I know very few people that haven't raved about them being the best stroller purchase ever.

One Step Ahead has a sit-n-stand that also goes to 45lbs:  http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=6793&parentCategoryId=85184&categoryId=85219&subCategoryId=86216   I've ordered plenty of baby/kid stuff from there and always been very pleased both on product and service.   They have a great return policy and have always been fast to ship, easy to deal with.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide!  :O)

I'm in the same boat, so I've been comparing the 2 for awhile now. The baby trend seems a little bigger to me and is heavier. It has a cup holder which the joovy doesn't. I tried it out and it "seems" kinda cheaply made to me. They steer pretty much the same. I'm probably going to go with the joovy. You can get it on amazon for just a bit more than the sit and stand sells at BRU. Size was a factor for me too, which is why I'm leaning toward the joovy. I originally bought the graco quattro duo and it didn't fit in the trunk of mt mid-sized sedan. There was a fabulous comparison of the two on amazon I think. I'll see if I can track it down!

I have the Joovy Caboose Ultralight and I love it.

I have had both my son (about 35 pounds) and his cousin (about 40 pounds) on it and it pushed just fine. I believe the overall weight of the children can't be more than 100 pounds.

It is light for a double stroller, around 20 pounds. And it actually folds up thin. The lenght can be shortened even more if you remove the canopy and childs tray. It only takes like 30 seconds to do this. With those removed I can fit in in the back of my compact car's non-existant trunk. I was very impressed.

I absolutly love this stroller. It is more expensive than the other sit and stand types out there but worth it for the perks: small fold, lightweight and quality. Plus some of the special edition styles come with the parent organizer and child's reversible seat pad.

You won't be disappointed if you get it.

PS, I got the camo one and it is just too cool. Now Dad doesn't feel less manly pushing the stroller! Ha!
