I am expecting baby #2 and looking for a boy name. (Took us 2 years to decide on a girl's name so we wre picky:-) ). Older brother to be is Jack. We love the name and would like something similar, Jake is a natural candidate. But would Jack and Jake sound too cutsey? I'm afraid it would look like we run out of inspiration, hehe. It does sound great with our last name though!

My second choice is Carter Jacob (Jacob is my brother's name, but we do not want to use it as a first name. I know, we're weird!).

It's not that Jack & Jake are too cutesy, they're just too similar.

I really like Carter Jacob. If you are thinking of other J names....

Yes I'd say I'd agree with pp that they're too close. Like naming two kids Aiden and Jaden or Melissa and Marissa. I really like Carter!

I definitely think Jack and Jake are too similar -- it seems like it could get very confusing.

I love Carter Jacob! I think it's a great name, and I love that it honors your brother. I think Jack and Carter are a fantastic sibling set. Sounds like a winner to me!

I agree with PP - Jack and Jake are way too much alike. I think it would get to be very confusing for everyone. Carter Jacob is a great name and goes great with Jack.
