What is your image and impression of the name Hilary? Do you think it would work with Claire, Julia and Anna? Do you think Hallie would work as a nn? Thanks!!

I love the name Hillary! For me, Hallie is a completely diiferent name. I would choose which you like better from the two. Both are nice and Claire would work as a mn for either.  Oh, every mn name you have listed would be a great first name too! :) Good Luck!

Claire, Julia and Anna are just so lovely and compliment each other really well. I personally don't find Hilary to be as pretty as these three names, and Hallie seems a bit cutesy in comparison. Sorry.

I love the name Hilary.  It was on my list for a long time, but isn't anymore because I thought too many people would think of Hillary Clinton.  I am a Democrat, but live in a very Red state and didn't want my daughter negatively perceived by others here.

Of your 3 middle name choices, I like Claire the best.  I think Hilary being 3 syllables sounds better with a one syllable middle name.

Hilary Claire is quite lovely.  I would not personally use Hallie as a nn.

I have always loved the name Hilary.  I think it is a good fit with Claire, Julia, and Anna.  I don't immediately think of Hallie as a nickname for Hilary, though.  I have young cousins named Halcyon (nn Hallie), Hilary, and Gwendolyn (nn Gwen).  While I'm not sure I can recommend Halcyon as a name, it does have a lovely meaning:

  • Halcyon (pronounced /ˈhælsiən/), a term that originates from the Greek myth of Alcyone, is used most often to mean golden or marked by peace and prosperity.

My cousin has always gone by just Hallie -- I don't know of anyone who calls her Halcyon.

In www. Behindthename. com, it says that Hallie is a diminutive of Harriet.

HALLIE

Gender: Feminine

Usage: English

Pronounced: HAL-ee

I think Harriet also goes well with Claire, Julia, and Anna.  WDYT?

Good luck!
