Let ACOG know how you feel about VBAC
This is an excerpt from the Internat. Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) e-newsletter. My thought is: let's flood their mail box! -- Henci

On February 25, 2003, ICAN sent a letter and subsequent press release informing the public of a petition signed by 3,105 individuals demanding an immediate revision of restrictive and harmful vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) guidelines. I received an acknowledgement from Stanley Zinberg, Vice President of Practice Activities for the American College of Obstetricians &Gynecologists (ACOG). It reads:
"Dear Ms. Woods:
Thank you for your recent letter regarding vaginal birth after previous cesarean delivery. Your comments will be considered by the Committee on Practice Bulletins--Obstetrics at their next meeting. Any comments they have will be forwarded shortly thereafter."
The letter did not state when the next meeting would be, however ICAN advises that anyone concerned with the potential revision of the ACOG VBAC guidelines write to Dr. Zinberg, Dr. Benjamin Sachs, and Ms. Nancy O'Reilly, at:

The more people they hear from before this meeting takes place, the more likely they are to take ICAN and women around the country seriously and change the VBAC guidelines to a reasonable guideline which works for everyone. ICAN will keep you advised when we hear further from Dr. Zinberg.
