Hemangioma on 11 year old
I tried to write this before but not sure if it ever posted.
My 11 year old has a hemangioma on the side of her head that is about the size of a dime. It is round, red and raised. I don't recall her having this at birth or as a small child. I only noticed it about a month or two ago. Also, she did have a Mothers pearl also known as an Epstein's Pearl on the back of her throat. I was told this would disappear and it is still there.
I did read that sometimes a hemangioma on an older child can be linked to hypothroidism. I am going to have her checked since I have an autoimmune disorder called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. The hemangioma isn't large or painful. I didn't think it was anything serious but just wondering what else it could be since most should disappear by her age.
