Happy Monday, all! :o)

The weekend here started off dreary. In fact, Melissa's Freshman soccer game on Saturday morning had to be cancelled because the field they were scheduled to play on was flooded. But the weather was much improved by Sunday and it was a gorgeous day (just as today's turning out to be!). We had two soccer games in the afternoon. First up was Sarah's away game; they tied 3-3... not bad considering their team just graduated to a "big" field this year and is now playing 11v11 rather than the small sided 8v8 as last year. Not to mention, they are up in flight 2 now (flights are based on team skills with flight one being the best). Krissy's early evening game was a home game which they won 2-0. The soccer season's off to a good start. Here's hoping for nice weather on Sundays through mid-November!!!

We went out for dinner Saturday night... all five of us. Hubby was hoping to get out with just the two of us, but I wanted to bring the girlies, too. Figured we'd have a nice, family dinner to celebrate the beginning of the school year. Besides, we haven't been out to eat as a family in a while and we needed it. I told dh we'd go again soon - just the two of us (because we need it, too! LOL).

How was your weekend? Run around like crazy? Spend it lazily with a book? Do something exciting? Please share! I'd love to hear what everyone's up to. :o)

Spent Saturday unpacking.  Yesterday our church service was in a local park at their ampitheatre.  We had a group called The Conquerors.  They are professional athletes who are body builders etc who showed us their strength and then they shared the gospel message.  www.Theconquerors.net   There are also pictures of them on my profile on facebook.  Here are pictures of 2 of our souveniers.

The first one was a steel bar that one of the guys bent using his teeth.  The second is a 12 inch Mirro frypan that one of the guys rolled into a burrito and then ripped off the handle.  They also bent a horseshoe into a heart. broke baseball bats by bending them over their spines.  They ripped 3 inch phonebooks in half and broke bricks with their hands, arms and head.

Hi Laurie!

My weekend was great!  We had our landscaping project finished up last week (see other thread), and we spent a lot of time getting the grass taken care of and I repotted some plants outside that were originally in our garden.  AND, dh took the boys camping on Friday night, so I had a Mommy night!  It was heavenly!  :-)  The boys fared well while camping, but apparently missed their Mommy (and wife).  Nice to be loved.

I let him do the packing and all the prep to understand what I do each and every time we do something on a weekend.  Of course, he forgot things, but he did OK.  I'm glad I wasn't there though - they pooped and peed in a bucket with the kid toilet seat on it.  Yuck!  Yeah, nasty stuff.

I rented a chic flick, drank wine, watered my garden so that I couldn't be accused of letting our new stuff die, visited with some neighbours, had a hot bath, and did groceries ALL ALONE.  Pure heaven!  Hahaha!

Anyway, gotta run.  Sounds like you had a nice weekend too.  Love those family dinners out.  So nice.

Jules
