Sooo.... Melissa's in HS. Wow! She had no problems adjusting to the "big" school (our HS is large... her class has just under 400 students). She's enjoying her classes, being with all her friends, making new ones and loving playing Freshman soccer.

The Athletic Department runs a pin fundraiser where they sell photo pins to parents. I've attached Melissa's.

How are you and your family doing? New member, "old" member, those just passing through... I'd love to hear from all. :o)

Hi all!

I'm still here. Let's see.

Jaylee is going to be 7 years old on Nov. 4th! She is settling nicely into the 1st grade. This is her 5th season of soccer and she seems to really like it, she has played the keeper (goalie) and defensive positions so far.

We are no longer dealing with her H, and have no plans to "do" anymore surgeries, her nose is still a little cricked (or is it crooked?, can never get that right) and she has some scarring between her nose and lip area. She seems to be doing just fine dealing with any questions she is asked about her scars, nose or lip.

Otherwise all is well. take care,

Jo

Glad to hear Jaylee's doing so well with school and having fun w/ soccer. Soccer season is our crazy season around here... and since we play fall and spring with winter training and summer "camps" thrown in, we're always in the soccer mode. So, be prepared. ;o)

She sounds like Melissa is about what's left of her H's.... nonchalant. Not a bad way to be about something you can do little to change, IMHO.

Nice to hear from you!

Hi all........

Alexa is adjusting to third grade. I cant believe she is 8....... She is in cheerleading. We are going to see Miley Cyrus in concert soon,so she is thrilled. She is so loving and sweet. It does not take much to make her happy. And she is sooo appreciative.

As for the pws, we are doing her maintanance tx's, every year and a half to 2 years or so. She has had ,I believe 13 treatments by the time she was one, and we are over the 20 tx mark. There has been no improvement really since she was a year old so until new lasers or more advancements are made, I am not aggressive anymore. I am afraid of causing more harm than benefit at this point. She does make comments that she wishes it was not on her face, which obviously saddens me. She also thinks that if anymore looks at her for any length of time, she asssumes they are looking at her pws and think she looks funny. I am addressing her feelings, not ignoring them. But I never stop reminding her what a great person she is and that is part of her and who she is.

I also just found out that my 12 year old son,has some hearing loss on one side. They believe it was since birth and it is nerve or neuro related. What I find strange is  my daughters pws is the left side and his hearing loss is left ear. Stops and makes you go hhhhhhmmmmmm..... I mentioned it to his ENT, and he says that may well be some "correlation" to it, but obviuosly no research thus far. I just thought nerve /vessel malformation with the pws and nerve issue with his ear.

I am still working nights.Walking zombie. lol

Hi, Elena! :o) Nice to see you again.

Eight?! When did that happen? She's just a baby! ;o)

Cheering, huh? I'm sure that keeps you as busy as our travel soccer does. Crazy schedules, huh?
