I'm a first time mom and my milk supply has dried up so we're switching to formula. Do I really need to refrigerate the nursery water after opening? Once I empty a jug of nursery water can I boil some water and after it's cool pour it in there for storage? Thanks!!

Hi and Welcome :)

I haven't used nursery water before but I don't think you need to refrigerate the jug once its opened. The info sheet I received for preparing formula says to use previously boiled and cooled water and put it into a clean container until you use it. To be honest, I never did that either. I used straight tap water from the get go. Do whatever feels right for you.

I'm sure it would be fine to re-use your nursery water jug and store previously boiled water in it. It isn't supposed to be perfectly sterile or anything.

HTH!

Hi and welcome!!

I used nursery water and always followed the directions on the bottle, if it says to refrigerate I would just do it to be safe. I don't see an issue with putting cooled boiled water in the container after it's empty.

I was able so find some info on using water to make baby formula:
