I just bought some Playtex Drop Ins and it seems like it takes forever to get my son to take the whole bottle. I switched to medium flow nipples (he's 4 months now) and it's better, but it still takes twice as long. I tried squeezing the air out, but as soon as I turn it upright, the air is right back, plus I can't get my fingers far enough up the bottle to squeeze all the air out. Is there a trick to these? I figure since you really like them, you can give me some helpful hints. Thanks!!!

Hi, and welcome to the board!

I have no experience with the medium, or fast nipples. I always used the variable flow nipples and never had a problem. The hole in those nipples is cross shaped and milk only flows out when they suck. My DD would drink a bottle in a reasonable amount of time. The bottles came with the slow flow nipples and I agree it took her forever to drink from them, it was crazy, and I hated how the milk just flowed out freely. (Which makes me wonder why it would take so long...lol) Honestly I would try the variable flow, they are for 0-6 months but I used them up until a year until we transitioned to a sippie cup.
