Hi,

I'm new here. I have a 5 month DS and DH stays with him. We realized when I was pregnant that we could live on only my salary (but not on DH's) and DH really wanted to stay home. But now that I've been back to work for 2 months I'm so jealous that DH gets to stay home. I feel like he's a better mom than I am! I think that if I wasn't breastfeeding they wouldn't need me to come home at all.

I have talked to DH and he agreed to look for a job that will pay enough and we're going to be moving to a cheaper area soon.

Does anyelse feel like this?

Joy

Yes & no. What I'm struggling with is the idea that I WOULD be a better mom than him, if I could stay home. We were forced by circumstance -- DH lost his job due to recession RIGHT when I could go back to work, and I always did make more money than he.

So I'm coming home and to all appearances he's been on the computer most of the day. He can't seem to get the older child to do anything without yelling, and when I ask about household tasks, it's "I was about to do that, and then a kid needed attention".

Hi Ladies...IMO no matter who is taking care of your child you will feel jealous of them and hink you could do a better job.  My H was an "ok" stay at home dad...but in all honesty my life got better once he left and Ray was in dc.  It used to look like he spent all day laying on the couch wathcing TV...most days Ray wasn't even dressed.

Well, my kids are dressed (though DH sometimes reports it was afternoon), and he does all the cooking. I just feel like when I complain about it I'm going to be told that "Men don't naturally do housework, be grateful for what you've got". Well, I stll like him, but he used to be a janitor (to earn college money) and he still seems unaware of how to clean a toilet.
