Hi ladies! We are throwing a bridal shower for some friends who are going to Vancouver on their honeymoon. I am wondering if there are any foods that Vancouver is famous for. Anyone have any ideas for an entree or a dessert that are very "Vancouver"? TIA!

Hi Julie, I see that no one has replied to your message but I hope its not too late.  I live a 1.5 hr ferry ride from Vancouver.  I couldn't really think of a specific dessert that came to mind, but for entrees I have a couple of ideas.  Here on the west coast we are really big into seafood...specifically salmon, halibut, prawns, and crab that can all be caught here in our own back yard.  Vancouver is extremely multicultural so that's why it's hard to narrow it down!

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.  Good luck!  Oh, and they will love it there!

Julie, thought I'd jump in here too. This board is super dead, so you're not likely to get a lot or responses, sadly. We're about an hour from Vancouver, and I'd also agree with the pp, very multicultural city. Big Asian influence as far as food, followed closely by Indian and maybe Italian . If you're stuck for a dessert, go for something chocolatey, always a winner !! Hope the shower turns out great, and I hope your friends have a wonderful visit to "my town".
