Okay so I've finally decided between the two.  I like the side impact protection of both of them, and the similar features.  What if anything would make the Britax worth 100-150 dollars more?  I do have a big kid, he's 24 months and 36lbs, 38inches tall.  I tried him both seats today, and don't really see a remarkable difference between the two.  Shoulder room didn't seem to be an issue yet.

I don't have either, but I know that the Britax makes a much taller high back booster when that time rolls around. Some people have also not been happy with the shoulder room for bigger kids in the Nautilus, and for some it also doesn't position the lap belt as well in booster mode.

Shoulder room is definitely one issue. For people who have broad shouldered children, this become as issue. My DS is built like a linebacker so I think the Frontier would fit him better over the long haul. His twin sister is petite so she would fit fine in the Nautilus.

I definitely think the booster is where Britax wins out. It makes a taller booster seat than the Nautilus. I also think it makes a better booster in how it fits the kids and keeps the belt properly positioned. The Frontier has a 9 year expiration date on the entire seat. The Nautilus has a 6 year expiration date on the harness and hbb. The nbb has a 9 year expiration date. The Nautilus can be used as a nbb, while the Frontier is only a harness or hbb seat.

If you like the Frontier more .. you can definitely find it for cheaper than the normal "$100-150 dollars more." Right now it's $195 (free shipping) at diapers.com. You need to use the code "SBGEAR1" for an extra 15% off the sale price. I have it for my 3 year old and we really love it. It can be a bear to install in some cars, but we haven't had any issues installing it outboard with LATCH in my Matrix.

I have both seats for DD (3 years, 34 lbs, 38 in). The Frontier is her primary seat. I like that the harness height can be adjusted without re-threading the straps. It does seem to be roomier in the shoulders, but she is average size so I don't think that makes a difference right now. I do like the harness adjuster on the Nautilus better...I can pull it tight with less effort. The Frontier was pretty easy to install outboard with the latch in my CR-V. Considering your son is on the bigger side I'd probably get the Frontier if I were you.
