Hello ladies.  My son is 20 months old and weighs 30 pounds (geez, lol).  He is RF in a EFTA that goes to 35 pounds.  I'd like to keep him RF as long as possible.  Do I wait for him to hit exactly 35 pounds, or do I turn him at 33 to take into account his shoes, clothes, blanky, etc.?

I'm hoping he'll slow down soon!  Thanks for your advice.

Kristi -

It's 35lb full dressed. My experience is that my kids really only add about a lb of weight when they are dressed with shoes on.

I definitely think you'll get your baby to at least 2 years old rear-facing in his current car seat. Weight gain slows down a lot at this age. There are now options to keep babies rear-facing to 40lbs or 45lbs if you have the option of replacing your car seat.

Thanks!  I'm hoping to get at least another 6 months of RF - glad to know I can get to 34 pounds.
