My son Vincent just turned one and was diagnosed with Hypotonia from a Neuro. I made and appt with his pediatrician to see what she had to say. She hasn't been  Pro Active when it comes to my son. I told her what the Neuro said because she hadn't got any paper work back and she looked at her notes and said" I thought he had IUGR"? No thats what the doctor delivering said to me because he couldn't explain to me why he was small 4lbs & 7ozs (poor care from his office). She evaluated him and said She felt that he had it in his trunk and that will just blast his him with more P.T. Needless to say she went on vacation and we didn't book an appt to talk about more P.T.

Vincent has been seeing a P.T for his Torticollis since January 09 and he was evaluated and accepted with Early Intervention. He is scheduled 12/8 for his MRI and not sure what to do now because his P.T comes to our house 1 day a week for 30-45 Minutes. Is this enough or does he need more?? and more of what?

Vincent can rollover both ways, he can lay on his belly and get up on his elbows and scoot his Knees under is belly but then rollsover to his back.  I give him cookies and he feeds himself, when he's sitting in his stroller he pulls himself to the tray and holds on. He can sit for seconds then falls to the side, he loves to stand and he babbles a lot. He does arch his back a lot when he's laying down.

I live in the uk so it's different here but we have just changed our PT.  Isaac was getting PT every 3ish months for the same amount of time as Vincent but now he's going to get 10-15 mins every week hopefully.  Does the PT give you exercises to do at home with him?

The best thing I did was change my daughter's pediatrician and she then got all sorts of tests and help.  Find one that specializes in kids with delays/disabilities if you can.  If he is underweight see a Gastroenterologist - ours has me add carnation instant breakfast drink to all milk and has helped so much in putting on weight which then helped with growth too. (7 lbs in a year!).  When he is older you can look into horse therapy.  Helped develop core strength but I think the child has to be 2.  My daughter got only 1 pt a week, but now gets 2 (through the state), one being horse therapy.  It's slow progress but it will come! Buy a PT book that shows you what you can do at home to help him.  I used an exercise ball with my daughter a lot.
