I'm sooo glad I found this message board!

My youngest daughter Autumn is 2 years and 1 month old. She still cannot walk, although she can cruise around the house holding onto furniture fairly well. Crawling is her main mean of transportation.

She wears plastic things in her shoes, although I'm not sure if they are still AFOs, as they don't come up past her ankle.

She has no other medical issues besides the hypotonia, in all other areas (speech, social, problem solving) she has tested at age level.

Once a week a physical therapist comes out to the house through the California Early Start program, she has been making small improvements with that. She's been doing that since June. I took her to a neurologist a few months ago who told me "well this could just be the way she is".

I'm just looking for other mommies who know how this feels. I never thought I would be looking at walkers for my 2 year old. :(

This is Autumn. Hope to talk to you ladies all soon!

Hi and welcome to the board.  Autumn is just adorable, what beautiful big eyes.  I'm Sophie and I'm the CL (community leader) here.  I have 2 boys.  Jeremiah is 3 and Isaac is 18 months.  Isaac has hypotonia and he's working on sitting without falling over at the moment.  Looking forward to getting to know you and Autumn.

Welcome!!

So glad you found this board!! This group of people has helped me keep my sanity!!! You can read our story on our web site:

www.johngarrettevans.weebly.com

My eyes are crossing, so I am headed to bed. Just ran 7 miles with two friends, preparing to run a half marathon in January to raise money for a muscular dystrophy cause, so I need to get some snooze.

Hope you find this a great place to relate, meet moms who understand and get ideas. Oh, and my youngest used a reverse walker for three days and then walked right out of it!!!!!

Welcome, and look forward to getting to know you!

Blessings,

Clara-Leigh

Hello Tiffany, glad you found us. It's encouraging that Autumn is on target in all areas except gross motor!!!

My grandson, Bricen, took his first steps a couple of days before he turned two; however, he didn't really walk until a couple of months later.

I look forward to getting to know you and Autumn!!!
