Hello all,
I am new to this board, but my mother was at one time a regular poster. She goes by the name of Kewldoodler. I have an almost one-year-old named Christopher. I had a question for you ladies as far as baptisms. Chris will be one next week, but he hasn't been baptised yet. My husband isn't really religious, but he has recently expressed an interest in getting Chris baptised and I was wondering if it's too late. He's getting pretty big and I didn't know if I should just leave it up to him to decide when he is older. Thanks everyone!

As someone who was baptized when I was 27, I say that it is never too late to be baptized. ;-)

LOL! You might want to check with your pastor or church office.

Hi there - I'm a newer newbie LOL -- I just found this board today.  My son is just 10 months, so happy belated 1st year to Christopher!

We attend a church that baptizes infants, we actually had Gordon baptized on Thanksgiving Day.  It was really great because we had family here anyway for the holiday so it was a great celebration.

It all depends on what church you attend, some do not baptize infants, but often will have "dedication" ceremonies - where the child is dedicated to the church and the parents publically proclaim that they will raise the child as a Christian.

As the previous poster said, I would check with the Pastor and he or she can answer questions you might have on why some churches believe in infant baptism and others don't, and help you make a decision.

Best wishes!
