Can anyone give me a link about the study on UTIs in circ'd vs intact boys? The one which was done on circ'd full term vs intact premies?

I've seen it talked about a lot and I'd just like some links about it if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Rose, loved for life by Meghan and mama to Michael Lloyd (24th May 2005) and Ella Morghan (5th Jan 2008). Hoping to conceive Tomas Luca or Carys Bryn by 2010.

IDK what you are looking for but this is an interesting link - it talks about the flaws of studies that showed a correlation between intact and UTI, and I love this line, "The prepuce (foreskin) is a protective organ, and one would not normally expect the removal of a healthy organ to reduce the risk of infections.9" It also says breastfeeding is protective of UTIs. http://www.cirp.org/library/disease/UTI/

This AAP link has a section on UTIs and studies, including of preemies and it includes references to all the studies. They include some of the reasons the study results may be unreliable as well. See "CIRCUMCISION STATUS AND UTI IN INFANT MALES" about 1/4 of the way down. http://aappolicy.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/pediatrics;103/3/686

I'm not sure if those help but it was interesting reading either way!

Thanks for that!

They look like very interesting links and I will have a good explore of them when I have time.

I'm definitely adding them to my resource folder!

Not exactly what I was looking for but useful nonetheless!

I saw this and thought it was interesting.  I had not seen anything like this before tonight...

Traditional circumcision raises UTI risks:
